  1. Am I ready for the engineer?

In order for the engineer to successfully complete the installation, you should have gained all necessary planning permissions and consents.

cess should be available to all areas of the building.

If you are having Sky installed a television must be on site.

If you are having Sky+HD installed and are a new customer that has not previously been a Sky customer in the past three months then, a TV which has the HD Ready Logo and an HDMI input, must already be installed at your premises prior to the Sky+HD installation taking place. If you are already an existing Sky Business customer, there may be a requirement to move your newly installed Sky+HD Box to a new location depending on the distance from your HD Ready TV to the Sky+HD Box (depending on the length of HDMI cable).

Sky+HD does not include any of the following: Dolby 5.1 surround system and/or speakers, or a TV Screen.

There must be a representative at the premises on the day of the visit to:

    • Allow cess for the engineer; and
    • Make decisions regarding where the box is to be sited, dish location and cable route

The engineer will need to park outside your business to transport heavy ladders and equipment. Any help you can offer with parking will help us to complete the work first time, on the day.

The engineer will be drilling so as a precaution, move furniture away from where the Sky Box will go.

Please ensure you have your Viewing Card to hand so that the installation can be completed there and then.

  2. When will the engineer arrive?

If you have a job booked, the engineer will contact you on the morning of the job to advise you of their estimated time of arrival.

The job is an all day call and we cannot book specific times or specify whether this will be am or pm. Please remember this is an estimated time only.

When the engineer arrives they will have a discussion with you or your chosen representative to determine the best location for your satellite dish and the routing of all cables from your Sky Box.

Some cabling will be run externally and, on all installs, holes will be drilled for cable cess to your satellite dish.

Our ability to complete the installation is subject to Sky's Health and Safety Regulations.

Once the equipment has been installed the engineer will explain how the equipment operates.

  3. Preparing for my Sky start up
